One to add to this thread I guess
A thread of my experience for the last 20 months trying to get on a PhD, because why not
I think perhaps the biggest problem I'm having is that I haven't got a specialism. From my perspective, I'm interested in a lot of different things and choosing one feels like cutting off the rest for no reason! But to a supervisor, I just look like I'm not really that into their area.
