Van Halen played Reunion Arena Nov. 18-19, 1982. This week, remastered soundboard recordings of both "Hide Your Sheep Tour" shows appeared online. Everybody wants some.

Three days ago, the Dallas City Council voted on a resolution that could include the sale and redevelopment of the City Hall site downtown.

On Monday, this is on the agenda for the council's Ad Hoc Committee on Professional Sports Recruitment and Retention meeting.

Let the speculation commence!

Two weeks into the tour for "Vs.," Pearl Jam pulled a local back-to-back, playing Denton on Nov. 11, 1993, then SMU's Moody Coliseum the next night. The concert that made me a convert. Come for the Neil Young; stay for the Dead Boys.

I remember when we had mayors who delivered their annual State of the City speeches in public. In front of, like, people.

The Future of City Hall is on the Dallas City Council's agenda this Wednesday. Here's the resolution. I just assume someone made a mistake when they left out the part where it says, "For the Dallas Mavericks."

39 years ago tonight, Neil Young + Crazy Horse turned Reunion Arena into A Rusted Out Garage, a solid gag that produced this keepsake filled with old favorites and "Life" previews. Hey hey, my my, play loud.

I regret not buying the Brobocop shirt when I had the chance during its VERY limited-edition run in 2011. Because I'd totally wear it to tomorrow afternoon's City Council committee meeting about the "State of Dallas City Hall," aka OCP HQ.

"Halt, bro," indeed.

The Rolling Stones' Halloween 1981 Cotton Bowl concert was drenched by rain. The next day's show was much drier, a little longer and a LOT better:

On Oct. 28, 1978, Queen opened the Jazz Tour -- and shot the "Fat Bottomed Girls" video -- at Memorial Auditorium, debuting 5 new songs. Someone in the balcony made this (pretty decent) keepsake:

I guess if you can tear down the White House -- the People's House -- then you can raze Dallas City Hall, too. I will now go mumble to myself in the corner for the rest of the day.

I took a lot of photos at No Kings in a packed (and often soaked) Pacific Plaza in downtown Dallas. But none were as good as this one shared by my pal @dreiling.bsky.social

Spent years looking for the Kinks' July 29, 1978, show at SMU's McFarlin Auditorium. Well, I found it -- 84 minutes of greatest hits (& some that should have been) in support of "Misfits," my 1st Kinks record.

When you're out at the State Fair of Texas and notice that no one's using the Fair Park Band Shell these days, remember: On Sept. 20, 1986, R.E.M. played there on the Pageantry Tour. Someone recorded the whole thing. (Songs in FLAC.)

A much-needed bright spot: Bird’s Bookstore just opened next to Royal China in Preston Royal. Crowded. Bigger than I expected. Cafe and couches. Was just sitting next to the mom of the doc who wrote this op-ed, which she was discussing with friends. Love it here.
