Been slogging through this one for the last week - currently on page 567 of around 920.

It's good, but it's a lot. The amount of characterisation is, frankly, overwhelming. It's a solid 3/5 book - if it were 4-500 pages it'd be truly brilliant.

I'll finish it, but stick to Tom Wolfe in future.

Rating the films I've watched this weekend whilst my wife has been away:

I meant to explore the world of cinema but ended up only watching films I've already seen 🤷

Did someone say Halloween?

Did a little shopping today; Sinners is one of the best films - not just horror but of all genres - of the last 5 years.

Audition is a masterpiece; disturbing and grotesque but incredible.

I haven't seen The Host but have heard very good things.
