From a pure fan bliss perspective, watching the Crew win in 2023 for me usurped any Ohio State title I watched or the Cavs’ 2016 championship (all of those I couldn’t enjoy until the acid reflux from nerves settled)

Growing up in suburban Columbus, the corniest moves I ever saw were seeing my Northern classmates go to Southern colleges. Always reeked of Dixie cosplay!

Buddy, the Trump voters in Stark County, Ohio, will NEVER forget their gone-too-soon chosen son, Thurman

It’s not even because I’m a Cleveland sport fans, but the night of Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals was an all-timer for sports discourse

Sam Anderson’s Boomtown. Got an advanced copy courtesy of my former roommate who worked at BuzzFeed at the time. Anderson wrote the fuck outta that book. OKC, what a city! Needs a new intro after the Thunder’s title last season

I also think we relatedly saw an explosion of this thinking when Israel invaded Gaza: so many people’s downstream thinking of the 2024 election was so black and white on the Israel issue it helped partially demotivate Dem-leaning constituencies

The ones with double the filling are one of my top-10 foods. Also a core childhood memory: my nana always had them stocked for me when I’d visit her and my grandfather

Also me and why my wife and I no longer live in NYC. Moved home to Cleveland and were still barely even able to afford a home that wasn’t tiny and/or a total project!

This is the biggest thing since 2016 we gotta transform: just inherent doomerism from the same people online who claim they’re the savvy ones in the room

The whole of the VA Dem party: “Playas we ain’t the same…”

The fact that there are no cities from Ohio here makes it the whackest list

I remember Hanif Abdurraqib sharing a NRSC hit on Dems on Twitter a couple of years ago because it echoed criticism of Biden on Palestine. when I told him he was getting played by sharing it, he told me, “well it’s still true,” which I didn’t expect to hear from a MacArthur Genius Grant recipient!

Just like PedoCon theory on the right, I have the feeling that these folks since 2015 prove out Brunch Theory on the left: the ones who always lambasted Libs as wanting to get back to brunch were projecting their own desires to just not have to give a shit about politics anymore

I’m from Ohio, and my family’s from Canton/Akron, and I get legitimately mad when people lump us with anything west of Indianapolis or Chicago. It’s not the same region!

I’m sorry, dude, but I just can’t take you seriously. I know for a fact you don’t care about anything happening in Palestine; you care about social media clout and points. Get the fuck out of this person’s replies
