I also think we relatedly saw an explosion of this thinking when Israel invaded Gaza: so many people’s downstream thinking of the 2024 election was so black and white on the Israel issue it helped partially demotivate Dem-leaning constituencies

I remember Hanif Abdurraqib sharing a NRSC hit on Dems on Twitter a couple of years ago because it echoed criticism of Biden on Palestine. when I told him he was getting played by sharing it, he told me, “well it’s still true,” which I didn’t expect to hear from a MacArthur Genius Grant recipient!

Just like PedoCon theory on the right, I have the feeling that these folks since 2015 prove out Brunch Theory on the left: the ones who always lambasted Libs as wanting to get back to brunch were projecting their own desires to just not have to give a shit about politics anymore

I’m from Ohio, and my family’s from Canton/Akron, and I get legitimately mad when people lump us with anything west of Indianapolis or Chicago. It’s not the same region!
