Remember to use it once in a while, otherwise the motor can develop something called “dead spots” that will cause it to die suddenly

If a seller doesn’t list exactly what was done to a deck, the you can assume that basically nothing was done except some dust blown out.

$120 including shipping for this slightly cosmetically challenged cassette deck. New belts and gone over by a crusty but very competent tech. Had one quite similar to this in the late 80s. One of my fellow #cassette heads should pick this up—

Painting by Cynthia Hayes, c. 2015, acrylic on hand-blocked Indian fabric, of a narrative frieze from the ancient kingdom of Gandhara (in modern day Pakistan) at the @artinstitutechi.bsky.social illustrating two important life events of the Buddha. Also a photograph of the statue.

Milwaukee/Shorewood Brat Haus serves their beer in two mugs also. When I asked about that, the waitress kind of shrugged it off like it was a perfectly natural thing to do.
The beer chaser thing with a Bloody Mary seems to be a Sconnie Thing

“I discovered a new buffet on the second floor of a different canteen near my classroom. It had lots more meatless options, I think because the international students live near this canteen. I would have stayed and ate there but it was a few minutes before the huge dinner rush.”

Another update on what my vegan daughter is eating while living in China and teaching at a university there.
“Tofu, two types of tofu skins, cauliflower, broccoli, enoki mushroom, and lettuce underneath. Not a big fan of the regular tofu but the tofu skins were good.
