“…it comes as a cost to work productivity….”

I mean, I’ve heard some shit arguments in my time (as you, Chris, will readily appreciate) but the idea that making it easier for me to spend more of my time watching AI slop on TikTok will increase my productivity is *quite* the claim.

It was the first movement that came on just before my first coffee and made for quite a challenging start to the day. 😁

Fantastic music obviously, though.

“Geared towards aesthetic influencers“.

I don’t hate Americans, obviously, but the fact that they created these appallingly shit outlooks on life does make me fear for them.

I was just trying to wind up the cricket geeks. 😁
But the idea that the Ashes (of interest to a modest share of the population of two relatively small countries) can be compared to the global interest in the Olympics 100m final is ludicrous. And the BBC guy was a drawling Henry. So.

Very with you. I intend to die, not pass, and anyone who describes me at any point thereafter as having passed will find that, under the terms of my will, they have been automatically excluded from their inheritance.

Yes: just ask Boris Johnson.

Terrible way to start a tweet.

Worst ending? For me: “Just let that sink in”.

On the other hand, just think how funny it would be if Mason, Crerar and Wickham *had* somehow been pranked by … well, I don’t know who, exactly.

But it would be tremendously amusing.

yes I think @youngvulgarian.marieleconte.com has talked about this, it's deeply alienating to find out that the vast majority of people do not want the curated timeline / engagement / discussion version of social media that I find to be the only good version of the experience

Am hearing that Kier Starmer is inclined to appoint Toby Young to replace him.

Roysonton is a service station.

One of those really tragic ones on an A road, not even a motorway.

😆
I’m also 63, so plenty old enough to be a grandpa (just not that way inclined….) 😆

She also asserted that “Roy” was ruggedly masculine.

So I think I probably turned out to be gay out of pure spite.

Finding this very triggering

😆

Not only did Mum (bless her) insist my name had to be monosyllabic, she also insisted on a monosyllable that would that would make me sound most like the semi-alcoholic under-manager of a bad used car dealership.

(Apologies to Roys who like being Roys.)

I love a movie with pensioners in it.

Unusually, I find myself aligned with the Iranian government. I don’t intend to make a habit of it.

I mean we spent several centuries and many rationalist and humanist martyrs to rid ourselves of fearful superstition. Why celebrate it now?
