Glazy has recipes and is great for doing the calculations, but I would start with John Britt's book in the temp range you want he has one on high fire and one on mid-range (basically the same book focused on two different cone ranges). Or Linda Bloomfields 'science for potters', or 'color in glazes'

Yes, I make all my own glazes. Glaze nerd to the end.

Not from this glaze the kiln wash released it nicely. All in all the glaze isn't brittle like some runners I've seen. Which is good since I hate plucking. This normally isn't so fluid but I sat at the top a little while longer than usual to get the cone down. I am saving this schedule for future.

I agree in terms of writing, but damn, not in terms of adjusting the glaze. ; )

Thanks for posting this, it's nice to see the sweet spot for titanium in eeking out that blue from copper. Instead of decreasing flux it's often easier to increase silica and alumina just move your glaze diagonally up the Stull chart.

After you learn more you will find that it takes less and less force to get what you want. You start to learn to relax into the process of changing clay.

I've seen people use adjustable single post stools too, sort of a leaning seat to take some weight off.
I also have a bad knee so I've learned to control the wheel with my left (bad knee) foot and stand on my right.

I've been throwing standing for a decade now. My back stopped hurting after about a week, I mean completely. The learning curve was less than a week. And honestly changing something like your positioning teaches you something new about throwing anyways. Set the wheelhead 1" below your 90⁰ bent arm.
