Toadhead is the upcoming novella by @grumpyandrew.bsky.social where he asks "what if Pixar's Ratatouille but murder?" and it is as gloriously demented as that sounds, threaded through with a rich seem of beautiful melancholy.
It's a perfect summer evening read. Releases later this month.

The Girl With The Needle is beautifully performed, photographed, directed and the design work is on top form. It conjures Bergman, La Strada and Dreyer.
I absolutely hated it. It made me want to throw up. The film got me right in the nopes.

My son is playing with his Spiderman action figures, however he seems to be acting out some Mike Leigh suburban drama. I'm hooked, but he has to get dressed for school. Also he's 4. We've managed to raise 'that child'.
