I'm fortunate to have a copy in with color illustrations printed in Madras. Here is online version. Also others.

11/Knowing this, what is the lesson?
Shamanistic control of posture and breathing becomes systemized through symbols to transform the psyche to a realization of life beyond death. Of beyond opposites. Beyond the separation of Man from Eternity. Of perhaps living a life unafraid of death.

10/Why repeating 7? Both in Sumer, in India and Greece?
7 is the number of the wanders of the sky. Sun, Moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn. As can be seen by the eye. Seen by sky watchers since Man looked up. They are the layers one's soul must pass to reach the stars and Eternity.

9/So what does this mean?
Serpents, by shedding their skins (as the Moon sheds it shadow) symbolizes transformation, seeing life beyond death. Or life beyond the daylight image as presented by our senses. The image of opposites. This/that, man/woman, live/dead.

7/Hermes is seen as the Messenger of the gods, of commerce, of mischief, and as a guider of souls.
His symbol is the Caduceus. A rod with intertwining serpents at 7 points. (6 and top of staff where wings of consciousness take flight. Like top of head with Yoga figure).

6/As a god of agriculture, the underworld, serpents and perhaps wine, could be seen as representative of life, death and its transcendence.

But 2500 yrs later, does the same god appear in Greece under another guise?

5/The Sumerian cup of King Gueda shows to bird/serpents (seraphim?) opening doors/gates to reveal 2 serpents intertwined. Once again at 7 points. This is the god Ningishzida, the king's patron and present in Early Sumer Dynastic period.

4/Later developed into Kundalini Yoga school, with imagery of a pose with 2 serpent streams of psychic energy intertwining with spinal column at 7 "Chakra" points. Each, once energized, opens the mind to spiritual possibilities. But such symbology is *not* restricted to Indian history and culture.

2/India has the most detailed relation of that method to control one's perception of Reality and use it to break away from the common relationship with how our senses perceive it. Seals from the Indus Valley Civilization show a figure in a Yogic pose.
