All of the serious analyses suggest the amounts to be raised from top-end taxes are relatively small. Doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. But it is the rump of middle-high earners who pay less than their European counterparts who generate most tax revenue, and need to pay more.

You can't solve this country's problems by only increasing taxes on the 1%. We live in a low tax country. If we want better services, we've got to increase taxes for everyone who can afford it.
