It's not to say that people don't like the latter these days but it's really irritating when people say its flat out worse than the former

i'd have to do more research so I don't sound like an insane schizo trying to explain this though, but I guess what I would say is that a lot of people these days have to find deeper reasons to say that a design looks cool, rather than accepting a focused core aesthetic that may not be symbolic
