The epic case of straight people coming to defend us from shit that uhhhh isn’t even that big of a deal

Nah it’s perfectly fair. I was the one who made the post on a public platform lol, these kind of conversations are important for understanding one another I think

Yeahhhhhhh average internet day, it’s bound to happen no matter what

I think people were just caught off guard. But I don’t think confirming that a character wasn’t written with the intention of being trans is in itself transphobic like some people may have implied. Everyone can still relate to Frankie and headcanon for her freely
September 27, 2025 at 1:29 AM
Yeah like that’s basically it but the difference here is that like Dana (the artist in question) was asked a direct question about Frankie and whether she was INTENDED to be trans or not. And well Dana didn’t write her with that intention but she’s still open for headcanons and such.

That’s fair honestly. Especially in America and Britain rn, trans rights are being fucked up severely. I feel like there’s a cloud of unease over everyone in the community rn, but especially for those who are trans. The stress must be insane

Yes I can see how you could gather that from how I phrased that. That was my mistake. But it’s true that the experiences of trans woman are probably vastly different than my own. But I struggle to see why people got so viscerally angry that Dana said she wrote her with the intention of being cis.

Any trans person or gender queer person is allowed to relate to Frankie or headcanon her as such. But the backlash was kind of fucking insane. It feels like we’re making gender roles 2.0, where any butch woman who acts masc MUSTVE been socialized as male earlier in life to be that way
September 26, 2025 at 11:18 PM
Maybe it touched a nerve for me specifically because I’ve had two weird past experiences where people have insisted I must be a trans man because of what I act like. I’m not. I AM gender queer and like being androgynous but I couldn’t just define myself by just one gender like that.

Like yes guys we have afab people who go by male sounding names, have “boy hobbies” and look masc. I’m one of them and I’m genderfluid, we exist. And we’re constantly told by people we aren’t womanly enough, or told we aren’t acting the way women should
