The Wager by David Grann is about this doomed British naval expedition that got shipwrecked in Argentina and then various mutinies occurred, I read it not expecting much and was so fascinated

For a sec I was so confused because I didn't remember a scene with a cake and then I realised

I had similar feelings about Heated Rivalry (which I also read in November)! I feel like in some ways it's going to be way more suited to a TV show style episodic storytelling
