You are right that it's harmful to feed wild animals. I also regularly see wildlife that's been killed by autos on our roads- everything from rabbits & songbirds to flickers & seagulls. It seems the fox lost its fear of humans, which made it more vulnerable to being hit, as you say.

I agree that people should not feed wildlife. However, auto traffic is surely also a factor. I live near Signal Hill and walk there often. The volume of driving is huge, and much is simply driving for entertainment: fast and loud. I often see people drive up, circle the lot, and drive back down.

Ah - important point. My own local Indy media is very strong on fact-checking in my experience.

Very true, and to those you could add climate. Independent news media often steps up with quality reporting on those files, but depends on reader support. Here in NL @independentnl.bsky.social covers them all from angles missed by the legacy press.
