Right, the answer to the question “can the president issue a valid pardon for the assassins he sent to successfully kill the Congress that was impeaching him” has to be no or the underlying structure of the Constitution makes no sense
i think that we should charge even people who have been pardoned, because there is no conceivable way the founders intended the pardon power to permit the executive to order people to commit crimes and then pardon them for them

Offering the survivors of a missile strike no quarter and then ordering a second strike to finish them off puts Hegseth in deep, deep water. He gave an illegal order. I really hate how my side is now just as prone to conspiracy theories as the right wing. I've already seen people suggesting the National Guard shooting was fake, the two victims are plants who faked injury and death. Going "Oh, both the victims just joined this unit and nobody knows them? Fake!"

On some level, Ear Truthers have to know that their conspiracy theory isn't true, because they aren't demanding the investigations that they would be demanding if they really thought it was true. They're not calling for the Butler ER doctor to testify, or for arrests of the complicit USSS agents.

I've never understood the people who were like "No, we don't want to kick Trump out of power, JD Vance would be worse!" He very obviously can't do the thing Trump does. He can't rile up the base. Nobody would attack the Capitol Building for him.
