There is no such thing as a "popular gentleman" or "gentleman warrior" in this day and age.
Flawed as they were, gentlemen of old had pursuits outside money grabbing and colonialism. Poetry, art, debate...from samurai to Victorian officers. It's all been destroyed for the "warrior ethos".

ANYONE can be assassinated from behind on basically any American street. Or any international street.
It's a shame this happened.
It's also a teachable moment for everyone that abhors politics and believes not just in the NG, but that they shouldn't even be there.
