The other Mini DIN 9 you've shown in your video pre-dates the final production assets we obtained from the former Retro Access.
The ring on our redesigned housing (hood) matches the former Retro Access housing diameter, this did not change.
It seems we will need to slim this up a bit more.

For Genesis 2, we've tested and shipped many and this is the first report we've received of the housing not fitting into the console opening. But still, not great!
Sega made MANY revisions to their shell over the years with various opening sizes. It seems yours may be a tighter fit than others.

For Genesis 2, we've tested and shipped many and this is the first report we've received of the housing not fitting into the console opening. But still, not great!

Placement of components closer to the source reduces crosstalk and reflections down the length of the cable.
