So-called “abortion abolitionists” maintain that abortion will only be eradicated once women are jailed (or executed) for “homicide.”

Their cries for help go ignored.

Miscarrying or giving birth in excruciating pain into cell toilets or on filthy jail floors.

Newborns suffering infections and long-lasting health issues.

Thank God! SB 323, the incomprehensibley tyrannical bill proposed in South Carolina (see link to an explanation of the bill in the link below) has failed in subcommittee.

Forebodingly, however, the bill only failed by a 1 vote margin.

Survivors of sexual violence who are minors now have the right abortion in Malawi. Previously, they were only allowed abortions necessary to save their lives.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Supreme Court (and the Republican party) think that forcing raped kids to give birth is marvelous.

Research shows that unplanned pregnancies carry even greater risks of morbidity and mortality than planned pregnancies, and many states that have banned abortion already have less access to obstetric care and higher rates of maternal mortality.

As rePro-Truth has previously covered, there's no data supporting the anti-abortion premise that ultrasounds change pregnant folks' minds about abortion; but there's lots of data showing the opposite.

As I searched online for empirical data that day in January of 2019, I came across a number of credible studies indicating the exact opposite of the “Pro-life” Movement's claims. To my sincere astonishment and deep disappointment, the magical ultrasound machine wasn't so magical after all. For example… A 2014 study of over 15,000 abortion patients, published in the professional journal Obstetrics and Gynecology, found that, “nearly all pregnancies (98.8%) were terminated: 98.4% of pregnancies among women who viewed their ultrasound images and 99.0% of pregnancies among the patients who did not.” A 2017 study examining the impact of Wisconsin's ultrasound law, published in the academic journal PLoS One, found that the law led to only a “small increase in continuing pregnancy rates.” Some women in the study reported that viewing their ultrasounds “increased [their] certainty about choosing abortion.” Overall, the study found that 8.7% of abortion patients continued their pregnancies pre-law and 11.2% post-law— a difference of just 2.5%. In a 2009 University of British Columbia study, published in the European Journal of Contraception & Reproductive Health Care, “researchers gave questionnaires to 350 women who came to two abortion clinics, asking if they wanted to view an ultrasound. Nearly 73 percent got the ultrasound and 86 percent of them described it as a positive experience. But none changed their minds about having an abortion.”2

Southern Baptist's Ethics and Religious Freedom Commission (ERLC) is still pushing people to give to their CPC ultrasound project even though ultrasounds are ineffective at persuading the vast majority of people into not have abortions.

Rather, an era of contraceptive siege is already upon us. Access is diminishing through three incremental and mutually reinforcing dynamics: the spillover effects of Dobbs that shrink service capacity and enable the conflation of abortion and birth control; the ascendance of parental- and conscience-based claims that authorize new gatekeeping; and a misinformation-driven cultural turn against hormonal methods that lays the groundwork for restrictive regulation in the guise of protection. Taken together, these developments jeopardize the availability of contraception even as constitutional doctrine remains, at least for the moment, formally intact.

First, conservative call for RFK Jr. to conduct a politically-motivated "review" of mifepristone, which he is now doing.

Now, conservatives want him to "review" oral contraceptives. They claim to be motivated by a concern for women’s health, but this↓ is their opening sentence.
No drug is as sacrosanct in today’s sexually “liberated” culture as oral contraceptives. But the proliferation of the birth control pill since the 1960s has fostered a number of grave consequences for our society: hook-up culture, delayed marriage, and the destruction of the nuclear family.

AB 546 is not designed to protect emergency abortion care.—It is designed to eliminate the exception for life-saving abortions altogether. A similar bill, introduced in 2023, explicitly states, “The bill eliminates the therapeutic abortion exception.”

That dude has some disturbingly dark fantasies.
