Trump, Governor Ken Paxton, and all of the anti-abortion extremists in power in the state are responsible for her death, and because of them, it is more dangerous than ever to be pregnant in Texas.

Tierra Walker should still be alive today—and she would be if doctors had never denied care. Exceptions don’t work, they’re poorly defined, and can be DEADLY.

This is another unfortunate reminder that Black women are more likely to face issues when seeking care due to biases about how they experience pain and health care complications.

This is another unfortunate reminder that Black women are more likely to face issues when seeking care due to biases about how they experience pain and health care complications.
She repeatedly asked for care, knowing that she had preexisting conditions that put her at risk for severe pregnancy complications. Out of the 90+ doctors involved, no one offered her the option to end her pregnancy because she was told that “there was no emergency.”

Bottom line: After multiple election losses in 2024 and 2025, anti-abortion extremists are desperate to regain influence.
They're using every tactic to restrict abortion—even pushing laws that make access so difficult that it creates a de facto national abortion ban.
