Everyday Americans cost of living are out of control. This is worth fighting for. Making sure that you can afford everyday life, and more important having access to health care is worth fighting for.

As your Member of Congress, I will continue working in a bipartisan way to reopen the government and restore funding for critical food benefits that our community relies on.

I’ve often talked to you about how steel is a national security issue.  Well the fact of the matter is, so is farming.  In Northwest Indiana and Indiana it is the heartbeat of our economy.

I’m ready, willing, and able to find a bipartisan solution to open government, make sure people get paid, and make sure people have access to healthcare.

The federal government has been shutdown for 9 days. I’m ready to go to DC to vote for opening the government, ending the healthcare crisis, & adding certainty to our economy & our healthcare.

With a government shutdown just 12 hours away, the majority is in control of the House, the Senate, and the White House.  I’m in Washington, D.C. ready to find common ground and protect access to healthcare.

Spoke on the House floor yesterday to highlight my recent meeting with Northwest Indiana farmers and members of the Indiana Soybean Alliance and the Indiana Corn Growers Association.

Spoke on the House floor to highlight my meeting with the More Action for Students organization in NWI. It’s clear these young people are not waiting for the future to arrive. They’re shaping it and laboring to build a society that is more just, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of all people.

While I was visiting IUN, I spoke with students in the TRIO program about the their experiences in college and how they are preparing to succeed after graduation. I’ll continue to tell their stories & advocate for the ability of all students to achieve their goals and obtain a good-paying job in NWI
