None of the successful single-player games this year is designed with 'attention economy war' either. Neither Clair Obscur, Kingdoms Come, nor Silent Hill f has intrusive nag lines or is focused on constant dopamine hits. Quite contrary - in all those games, the story is quite slow-paced.

Sure, money is all that matters to them. The question is if they save more money by adding slop to them than they lose by lost sales caused by poor reviews.

I'm willing to bet that those wine cups aren't historically accurate.

This Anno has mixed reviews compared to very positive of the previous game in the franchise.

Not to mention that Ubisoft was waiting with adding genAI disclaimer until the last minute because they knew they would get hate for it.

It doesn't matter if you are big or small.

I simply do not enjoy looking at AI. AI illustrations in that game come up quite frequently, which would ruin my enjoyment. I'd rather play an older Anno game.

It's like having too much salt in an otherwise perfect meal. Salt is only a tiny % of it, but it still makes the whole thing taste awful.

I don't really care if they were forced to use it or not. I won't spend my money to stare at slop.

Wait, is this a real artwork from the game?

He even boasts that they knew about it months before the general public and academics pointed out the issue. But the thing is - if you knew that it would be a problem, why didn't you do anything about it? Why even brag about knowing about the problem before others if you let it happen anyway?

The other weird thing - it's hilarious how useless OpenAI's safety team is. There are two points in the interview where he admits they knew that something would cause damage, yet they released the product anyway.
1) He admits they knew beforehand that it would be used as a plagiarism machine.

Someone is using our tool a lot? Let's check what he's doing.
They care about privacy even less than Google and Meta. It turned out that this user was using ChatGPT for erotica, so when you jerk off to your chatbot, you should assume that a whole team in OpenAI is rubbing one out with you.

On one hand, it's one of the biggest AI boosters, selling all its shares of the biggest AI chip company.
On the other hand, it's Softbank, known for making bad decisions all the time.
I rate this neutral.

I have a lingering suspicion that the pennies they saved by replacing real linguists with AI slop weren't worth it.

It's AI. You can see that the paw on the head of orange cat isn't moving correctly when the camera moves closer.

Thank you for removing the genAI from the game.

In all fairness if Cuomo went to a real agency asking them to make an ad with black people showed as pimps and shoplifters who support Mamdani they would tell him 'no, that's a bad idea'.

Hey, OpenAI, do you have 1 trillion dollars for all those promised investments?
No, but we have a really cool PowerPoint presentation.

Considering API costs, it would cost hundreds of bucks to deepfake the lead actor in a movie. Replacing an actor in GoT would cost thousands of dollars. No one is paying for that.

I think you forgot to publish the vod of the Monday stream on Twitch.

It's funny how many companies have seen their stock skyrocket because OpenAI promised to spend an insane amount of money on their services or products, despite OpenAI not having the money to finalize even one deal.

The good thing is that even suits start to see through Altman. Although it's still crazy that he had to make up really crazy numbers for that to happen.

Altman’s AI Power Grab Is Tone Deaf and Infeasible
Sam Altman may be a visionary but he could use some help reading the room.
