Most ovulation #research focuses on uncovering the mating-induced #ovulation process. We found that the Drosophila insulin-like peptide #ILP8 is required to induce ovulation and egg laying in UNMATED females as a mechanism to prevent excessive accumulation of mature follicles and oocyte aging

Both inhibitors effectively blocked the rewarding memories of alcohol, and dibenzazepine reduced alcohol consumption preference, suggesting the Notch pathway might be a good molecular target for more effective AUD treatments.

Alcohol activates #NotchSignaling in memory circuits, so to test whether pharmacologically inhibiting Notch signaling affects ethanol preference, we used γ-secretase inhibitors #dibenzazepine and #compoundE.

We show that FDA-approved #AlcoholUseDisorder (AUD) treatments #naltrexone and #acamprosate reduce ethanol consumption preference and memories for the rewarding effects of alcohol, underscoring the efficacy of drugs in treating AUD.
