the way to protect free speech in this instance is to show solidarity with the trans person being silenced. it's pretty straightforward.

and again, this attack on trans identity has been withering, brutal, and extended. if you are concerned about free speech, you need to be very concerned about a university firing a trans grad student for trying to do her job!

Helping an indigenous farmer survive seems like crucial work in Palestine ❤️
I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Nasser. Nasser was a vegetable farmer before this, but the occupation destroyed his home and the farm he worked.

He has four children Muhammad, 11, Jana, 10, Yazan, 8 and little Adam who is only one and was born during the war. He needs help

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said “we should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.

Every person in Gaza deserves safety, food, and comfort, but it hits even harder that this could be any of us when I see someone who has my job (lawyer) asking for help. What would you do if your entire economy and infrastructure were blown away? Please help Hazem and others in Molly's feed.
I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Hazem. Hazem was a lawyer before this. He’s been displaced with his family including his daughters Elen, 5 and Ela, 3. He told me he spends most days looking for a job or a way to raise money for his family but he needs help ❤️

Please help my friend Esam. He keeps losing his account and has had barely any donations in ten days.

Folks, people in Gaza are still starving and you can help! Check out Molly's feed for lots of links where you can donate to hungry families.
I know that it’s because of the ceasefire but all the donations stopping right when there are actual affordable food in the markets is rough for people

Listening to Voodoo driving to and from high school in my 1997 Honda Civic was the moment I went from child to adult. And as an adult, Black Messiah has really kept me company (as Voodoo still does!). A real artist. May his memory be a blessing.

Has anyone written about what happened to Justice Gorsuch post-Bostock?
Alito, joined by Thomas and Gorsuch, suggest that public schools violate the Constitution when they help a student transition (by acknowledging them as trans) without their parents' knowledge or consent.

Would force schools to out trans kids to their parents. www.supremecourt.gov/orders/court...

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

@marisakabas.bsky.social is an invaluable resource—I’m so glad she decided to speak truth plainly and give us the Handbasket. This, as all Handbasket posts, is a great read.
New — I was fortunate to speak in front of students and faculty at Grinnell College in Iowa tonight about the business of independent journalism, the current state of media under Trump 2.0, and billionaire control.

I published my full speech because I thought it might resonate beyond campus:
Truth, morality and independence in journalism under the second Trump regime

The idea that Israel cannot be (cannot become, cannot sustain as) pluralistic is a racist sleight-of-hand. There’s absolutely no reason there can’t be one integrated state EXCEPT that it would require dismantling the current system of judeosupremacist apartheid.
