The Commonwealth of Kentucky does not respect life or the lives of currently living citizens. I'm not hopeful and personally am thrilled my infertility journey is long over. These poor families. They/we deserve so much better than religious ignorance.

It terrifies tf out of this old white Southern woman who very much loves her Black daughter in law. She is married to my Asian daughter, complicating things even more. Neither of them deserve this. No one does.

I can imagine an international travel ban on Americans. Too many of us are unvaccinated and it makes life dangerous even for the vaccinated ones. Good leadership protects people; we don't have that so other countries might have to take steps to protect their own.

Whoa. Those people don't come across as remotely likeable or agreeable. I'm so sorry people have to live with this. I turned my back on all of my maga family and holidays are pleasant again. Just finished a peaceful meal with the reasonable ones in the family and no politics came up. It was lovely.

Still haven't met my newest cousin who's about to turn 2 - his mother is antivax. I'm re-vaxed on ALL of my childhood vaccines but I don't trust them. I have too many autoimmune issues and hubs is a cancer patient. Sadly, it runs both ways. It's hard to keep everyone safe when ignorance abounds

The comments below the opinion piece show exactly why Kentucky continually votes against itself. At this point, the ignorance is a willful choice. We will always be limited until we begin to educate and teach people how to think. Then, we teach civics. To everyone.

You MUST become *more* progressive in order to win. It's not enough for the country; it's hardly enough for Kentucky. We can't fight regressive republican policies with what used to work. We are demanding more and better. You can do it. I'm hoping you will.
