Real ones know how petty and clever 50 is. You never want to be on his bad side, but it is nice to see him use his powers for good instead of evil
“Sean Combs: The Reckoning” will include previously unseen footage Combs commissioned before his arrest, though Combs’ spokesperson says he is “deeply concerned” about how 50 Cent gained access to it.

It really is astounding just how much money goes to failed mediocrity across industries
a cool $175 million in buyout money to bad football coaches

one might be able to convince me that if you took football away from MOST of these ‘colleges’ they’d go out of business and die within 5 years

This is true and it is what the SPACE Framework seeks to address. What's terrible is that the leaders of our field who ostensibly should know better like Zuck, Elon, and Bezos routinely conflate activity with productivity (or progress), which is why they are convinced #AI will replace devs

The subheading also gets at something I pointed out at election time. Despite Beltway Media conventional wisdom that Mamdani and Spanberger ran fundamentally different campaigns because Mamdani is a socialist wack job in NYC and Spanberger is a pragmatic moderate in VA, they actually didn't
New Yorkers kept telling me the same thing: they’re thinking of leaving because they can’t afford to raise their kids here. Universal childcare isn’t just a promise — it’s how we make this a city for everyone.

To be fair, Gen Z's employers aren't paying like Gen Z needs them to, @wsj.com

The most basic form of respect is getting someone's name right, a fact not lost on politicians who deliberately mangle "Kamala" and "Mamdani"

So I applaud Collinsworth for his attention to detail because we heard Mariota himself pronounce his name that way in the player intros

#SNF #Commanders
…I find myself rooting for a Commanders touchdown solely bc I want to hear Cris yell Mariota’s name with the lil flourish on his name

I can't believe it's taken me this long to sus out that it's feasible to bake a couple of potatoes at home and then bring one with me to work for lunch. So many missed potatoey opportunities! 🥔

Not sure we need to shower so much praise on Beltway Media for simply reporting in accurate and plainspoken fashion what he said, but I suppose the bar is low because they so rarely do that

It's December. The goal is to find MELIA a home for Christmas. We can do this. Over 810 days waiting. Poor baby. A quiet adult only home, no dogs, cats are ok. 3.5 years old, around 50 lbs. Come on New York!

Brian is right that the last sentence really does hit, and it hits especially if you are a political person who often criticizes Republican talking points as projection
This is actually quite brilliant, up to and including the final sentence 🔥

Social media has paid people for decades to create content that makes us lose our minds, which means distrusting and actively dismantling the institutions, however flawed, that served us well enough after the last catastrophe. The richest people in the world own social media and see an opening
I feel like one of the most underrated explanations for what's happening right now in global politics is that almost everyone has lost their minds.

Yup it's the Netflix way. All they care about is that you have Netflix on in the background while you doom scroll, do laundry, nap, or...ahem, chill...and that you are able to catch back up with what's going on in the show whenever you re-engage
Saw Wake Up, Dead Man (Knives Out 3) yesterday. Very, very fun movie.

But I do feel like it was written with the fact it was going to be on Netflix with people watching while on their phones. Things would happen and characters would start explaining what happened and their emotions.

I criticized the #Saints for their profound absence of creativity in considering Justin Tucker, who is both washed up and a piece of shit, to be their new kicker rather than looking in other spaces. They took my advice and got Charlie Smyth, who was a goalie for a Gaelic football team in Ireland

The fact that Puka Nacua was a 5th round pick is further proof that #NFL player evaluation remains completely unserious

I said from the beginning that if it were allowed to proceed naturally, the jobs AI takes start at the top. AI can't cook or teach or fix a toilet, but it beats paying Zaslav $50M per year for renaming HBO Max to Max back to HBO Max again and merging WB and Discovery only to split them again
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.
