This art.. these space cop squad patches were not all Martin Oldman was doing. Outside of my shop, a whole living breathing space station was pounding hour-by-hour with new earth shattering events. Assassinations, Spying, and even the beginnings of an ARG that questioned the entire medium.

I played fully into my character, describing the sights and smells of the shop and the artistic process as my fictional laser machine produced the patches as Martin scrawled away on a terminal screen, stylus in hand. It was my characters biggest success up to this point.

That little something, a tiny voice inside my head was cheering me on. I had accidentally, through the desire to make fictional spacebucks, found a hyper-specific art niche that I felt I could say I was pretty good at doing! Each day I could pump out 1-3 of these designs if I had no IRL issue

It was a lot of credits at a pretty respectable pace, because as soon as I pumped one out and the recipient posted it for their business I would see a small crowd of people asking who made it or how it was done. I couldn't keep up with the pace! But I began to feel something in my heart.

I guess I should have expected it, given how eager or foolish everyone was to toss their starting credits around immediately. Before I blinked I was consulting privately with a dozen different customers on completely different projects. Most of which wanted eye-catching ads of their own made.

I digged the vibes, and the retro casette futurism of Mothership (the game setting that #OVER/UNDER takes place in) was in line with what people were pumping out at a breakneck page in the games market. I cracked it open, played with the tools for about an hour to get comfy, and put out my ad:
