Colorado dad. We live in the stupidest time ever. Bluesky is less stupid than IRL.
Or "dissonance in his campaign against drug trafficking," according to NYT, a pitiful excuse for a newspaper.

Didn't know that. I've had other TVs where it seemed more difficult to bypass the built-in software. Piece of cake with this one.

Well said. AI, if focused on narrow use cases, could be quite beneficial to society. But unregulated, AI will likely be disastrous.

And I have no hope that policymakers will steer AI toward social benefit.
November 28, 2025 at 8:39 PM
Yes, this. There's a huge range of applications of AI, some terrifying (mental health counseling for teens) and some quite benign (intelligent upscaling).

Just like you shouldn't buy something because it says "AI" on the box, you shouldn't dismiss it either.

I just bought the bargain Vizio TV at Walmart. $228 for 65".

Start it up, choose not to connect it to WiFi, plug something into an HDMI port, and enjoy.

Except for tweaking picture and sound settings (which works well), you never have to interact with the built-in Vizio software at all.

640,000 and counting killed by Trump policies.

But sure, let's laser focus on the one person that Trump wants us focused on.

Cowardly media doing Trump's bidding.

Imagine Biden or Harris refusing to attend Cheney's funeral because his home state of Wyoming treated them so unfairly, handing them double-digit election losses.

Can't imagine that? Probably because they're not horrible, broken human beings.

"No room at the table for invaders" like indigenous people. 🤦
Homeland Security doesn’t grasp the fact that the first Thanksgiving was about making “room at the table” for European “invaders.”

Back in May, they passed 10 million rides and 50 million miles. Not a small sample size.

But you're right that they're still a small percentage of vehicles on the road. Larger percentage of miles driven but still small.

Safety likely increases further as Waymo share increases. But caution is good.
Over 10 million rides, 50 million miles, with a much better safety record than human drivers.

Why would anyone risk their life in an unproven Elon product when Waymo has an excellent track record?
It’s Waymo’s World. We’re All Just Riding in It.
Google’s driverless-taxi company just cracked 10 million rides. If you haven’t taken one, you will soon.

Love this story.

Lots of attic searches gonna happen over the holidays this year.

Spoiler: I got some baseball cards and comic books in my attic. No Superman #1 though.

Socialism is thriving under Trump. Government handouts to billionaires are at an all-time high.

Mamdani (like Bernie) just thinks the 1% should pay their fair share.

And that the 99% deserve the basic necessities of life. Health care. Education.

Trump is the radical.

For lives saved, is eradicating polio or smallpox bigger?

Sure.

But reducing - by over 80%! - motor vehicle accidents, the leading cause of death of teens and young adults?

That's huge.

The sooner we can move past fear mongering and denialism, the sooner my two teens' life expectancy goes up.

Opposing automotive safety advances is no different from opposing vaccines.

Both viewpoints are anti-science.

Both cost lives.
November 21, 2025 at 11:12 PM
Huh?

Waymo self-driving cars are 80% safer than human-driven cars.

I would love it if my teenager (statistically even riskier than the average human driver) never had to drive.

Fear mongering delays safety advances, and ultimately costs lives.

Do we call this Democrat Derangement Syndrome?
November 20, 2025 at 3:40 PM
Yes! Maybe the question was rhetorical. But obviously, yes!
Trump has lied and cheated his way through life.

Trump's DOJ fabricates charges against peaceful protesters and Venezuelan immigrants.

Why would we expect a complete release of the Epstein files?

They'll be carefully curated to blame Trump's enemies and exonerate his friends.

I just love that he keeps focusing more attention on Kimmel and boosting his ratings. 😂
Congrats @jimmykimmel.com on yet another shout-out from the president!

More free publicity for Kimmel!

If Kimmel has "VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS," then why are you so fixated, Mr. President?
