Diligence is salvation sometimes. Here's where I'm sharing thoughts on writing as I make my next book.
Using Obsidian while working on drafts is absolutely a time and life saver. Searchable lore saves me an absurd amount of time. Translating from my notes to something I can use in the story is an important part of it.

It's not common, but the words are there for rough situations.
Assuming your target audience are adults, do your characters cuss?

Two chapters today. I'm not certain if they're going fairly quickly because it's what I want, or if I'm still too close to the draft.

Second chapter done and I'm thinking of abolishing chairs. Nobody should be sitting, everyone standing at all times. Sometimes there is something on the floor and they can kneel down. But no sitting. Not ever.

Its said that the ring of mushrooms growing on its back lead to another world. However, nobody has ever returned from it.

Getting back to my manuscript in a new place has made be able to find word oddities so far.

Though I almost edited a thing I hated from the first draft back in, so it's not all roses.

I think the benefits of writing characters that are not human are many, but seeing how people interpret them and ultimately fancast them is a really good one.

Now it's Editing Time. I'm going to go through this whole book, front to back, and whip its first-draft nature into a strong second draft that I can sling to beta readers.

Started filling up my bookshelf again today. For once in my life I'm just grouping them by genre and not bothering with alphabetizing them. This may come back to bite me in the ass but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Today I got the basic character sheet and miscellany together for my game that's meant to go beside Myriad, a novel I'm going to start revising soon. I'm excited to start running the game for my group.

On my way home from Banana Ball. That was very fun. The game was close, which the rules help encourage, but I'd be quite happy going again.

Tomorrow I'm going to see some banana baseball. Before moving up to Seattle I didn't have much interest in baseball but after two Mariners games, I'm at least a casual fan.

I took a break from writing regularly starting about a month ago so I could get things ready for the move.

I can't wait to get set up for writing next week, I need it bad.

Within the next few years, someone is going to get millions in venture capital money to build an app called Professr which will use AI to replace lectures, and dozens of colleges will immediately lay people off and begin using it, only to regret it when it turns out no one learns anything.

I don't want things to "go back to normal."

Normal SUCKED, y'all.

I want things to be better than they were, better than they ever have been.

That's the most frustrating part: they CAN be. We just have to want "better" more than we want racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism.
