The music and audio design is phenomenal and a highlight of the series so far. But with the end music, I have to agree with you. The decision to include contemporary music does nothing to build on to the story and it takes away from the tone established leading up to it.

Mine is when they keep delaying in 30 minute chunks. A few hours later they surprise everyone saying there is a "gate change" and boarding is starting right away. The chaos that follows is like a scene in an 80's comedy, complete with yelling and high tempo music.
