Journalists need new norms for verbal abuse during pressers. The standard advice is not to respond, and I can say from personal experience, that's usually a good idea. But it's different when it's the president routinely degrading the press on national TV, it degrades the whole profession.

Congress and the Supreme Court are complicit. I don't expect Trump to repent. I don't expect Stephen Miller to repent. But Republican Congress members are not all sociopaths; do they really expect there will be no accounting? What do the Six on the Supreme Court say to their confessors?

Also, if the BBC is right about the timeline of Lakanwal's life, then the CIA used him as a child soldier.

To be explicit, we executed a German U-Boat commander who said he had to sink lifesaving gear / “inadvertently” kill survivors because it might give away his position, thereby potentially resulting in the loss of his submarine.

We executed multiple members of that crew.
Heinz-Wilhelm Eck might have something to say about this one.

How does one account for slavery as an externality in economics? Or just really hideous labor conditions? If your externality is pollution at least you can measure that but I don't know a metric for human bondage. Or do we instead treat it as a mathematical singularity, an infinite negative, and

Make Asthma Great Again.
After Hochul’s administration agreed, a federal judge finalized a deal last week that will likely suspend New York’s all-electric building law for at least a year.

Just a few weeks earlier, the state argued that delaying the gas ban would cause “irreparable harm."
Why Did Hochul Back Down on New York's Gas Ban?
Just last month, the state argued in court that it couldn’t halt the all-electric buildings law even if it wanted to. Then it abruptly changed course.
