Wild strawberry

#garden is overflowing this year with wild strawberry blooms. They are tiny flavor bombs but beyond delicate. Can not even be stacked. Was crossed with european strains to create modern day fruit.

Backyard year two.

Start with this one

Red cornflower. These are reseeds from last year. Only had a few viables. This year they are everywhere.

Medicinal uses are for eye infections. Highly astringent. Flowers are edible garnsishes. Were used to add color to dishes. Typically blue.

War on the HOA continues.

In January. Now getting full stares. Still have not cut it. I am like a red neck momma and my baby's hair. It is virgin grass.

No fertilizer. No pesticide. Just love of loam.

#gardening is my super power.

My grass is too green!

Neighbor came over last night... did not come in... just dropped by a Christmas gift. 🙅said....so you are the only one with a green yard. With a think slaver of admonishment.

Ummm yes sir. That is the point. Wonder when that will become an HOA complainr. Your yard is too green.

Then I did this...

Happy Holidays folks. You won. My cans are in the back.... but...

My house is the one on the left.

Me: ponders my evil gardening powers.

Me: ok. Now I have the only green yard in winter. Dare you to ask me to mow it. Because y'alls yards are messing with my propery value.

Aside from the low growth rate my late 8a cabbages are showing a bit of cold stress. Hence the pinkish color.

Also the red choke berry is showing its full autumn red.

So early morning walk through. A housefinch is perched on the feeder.

Wild strawberrys are winding down and turning red.

8a cabbage experiment is getting mixed results. Stunted plants are due to less sunlight. But the stronger plants are doing well

They were planted October 1
