Try and be nice to people, avoid eating sugar, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live in peace and harmony with people...
Just had a quick look on Google Maps - and it's also easy to spot the M&S distribution centre, DHL Sainsbury's and Dunelm distribution centres. Obviously down to proximity to the M6.

But I'd guess many of the jobs in such warehouses are not well paid, so won't bring much prosperity to the area?

Don't overlook BET365. They bring some prosperity to Stoke, and misery to the rest of the country.

Be fair: this is probably just an echo of Corbyn's 2019 manifesto promise to nationalize Openreach (ok, even more crazy now then then)..

But it really does show Sultana doesn't know what she's talking about.

That was just an FYI.
I didn't imply anything more.

With Farage as PM the UK isn't going to last very long as a (somewhat-) civilized country!
December 1, 2025 at 7:21 PM
To be fair I don't think the UK back in the EU would/could quite rival Hungary for obstruction!
December 1, 2025 at 7:09 PM
There HAS been, however, a single upside to Brexit viz VAT on private school fees!

(Obvs not everyone would see this as an upside)

Not quite. Apparently there are many files which need to be uploaded in advance so they can be published when the Chancellor sits down.

So uploaded BUT not accessible - though some security mechanism or some such? This "security" measure was clearly insufficient.

In Farage's case we heard about an Isle of Man Trust fund c2013.
And then of course all the Coutts/NatWest nonsense in 2023.

Though I don't think he worked at any school for any length of time. Sure this is often the case for trainee/new teachers but it does raise a few doubts about the guy.

FR and DE, but also I and ES..

UK arms exports was concentrated on supplying the Middle East, but apparently Europe has been its biggest market in the last few years.

Aerospace and missiles mainly.

Fair point.
I was generalising about cycling.
November 30, 2025 at 9:54 PM
Obvs we used to be able to claim that NL, DE... etc were special cases because they are mostly flat countries

But with ebikes.. that excuse goes away - although cost/security of bikes becomes more of an issue.

Yeah, yeah. But the residents of Druids Heath probably have a VERY good point.

They have actually got affordable housing.

I would guess that some renovations should be possible to improve the properties, and some additional trees/planting would improve the overall appearance of the area.
