It is, as long as you're not a hype-addicted bozo looking for a fix because the very concept of patience has left your mortal shell.

A single-digit team should be allowed to just go "Hey we're okay we're working on it" once a year. Anything more you're simply not entitled to.

So, so tired of this narrative. Onwards once again to show that "Hey, we're okay, we're working on it" was a YEARLY deal :

Boring or forgettable are among the last words I'd use for you, and I'm not aware of any ill reputation, so yeah, I think it all has to be on expectations, communication and... luck of the draw, I guess. Meeting the right peeps who are looking for a similar amount of interaction. Stuff CAN change. ❤️
August 14, 2025 at 8:35 PM
So I'd say it's about finding the right folks with matching expectations, and also maybe putting a little effort into setting stuff up, potentially being the one saying "Hey let's find some weekly time to get in voice and do X" and all that jazz. Specific interests can be a big help for that, too.
August 14, 2025 at 8:30 PM
But other friend groups are more of a monthly basis. Others are on a weekly basis, like tabletop and TTRPG friend groups. And then there are some folks I can chat with and/or hang out with almost daily. And then workplace friends are another deal entirely.
August 14, 2025 at 8:28 PM
I don't think it's any of that and rather a more practical problem, if the loneliness is more of a daily thing. About specifically finding people who are down to hang out on a more regular basis. I think friend groups differ a lot on that front. I have some good friends I interact with twice a year.
August 14, 2025 at 8:26 PM
Only real way to prevent that is clear communication, so expectations are set and not betrayed, I guess. But also, some people will think that kind of communication is a hassle for "just" friendship, so... Yeah, it's a bit awkward. But relationships and emotions are always a mess, so, nothing odd.
August 13, 2025 at 9:42 PM
It overall very much is a "to each their own". And sometimes that means the expectations are mismatched. If someone thinks "friendship" means helping each other through tough times unconditionally, my more laid-back approach to friendship will probably disappoint them. Such is life, alas.
August 13, 2025 at 9:40 PM
I don't think there really is a universal definition. People look for and expect different things from friendship. I personally would go with something like "people I enjoy hanging out with", because I'm not looking for more than that. Friends are people I game with, play tabletop with, etc.

Massive potential for monotype runs too. Wonder trading makes sure you can get an acceptable lineup early for anything.

June 15, 2025 at 9:18 AM
June 15, 2025 at 9:13 AM
June 15, 2025 at 9:10 AM
