Just discovered that Firefox (but not other major browsers as far as I can tell) has a toggle to always underscore links.

One thing I haven't figured out is moving a window to another space with a keyboard shortcut (Shift-Super-Page Up/Down on Linux with GNOME). A workaround is that you can pick up a window with a cursor (e.g. with a three finger drag - another highly recommended tweak) and use Ctrl-1/2/3/4 to move it.

Ctrl-1/2/3/4 allow you to quickly switch between virtual desktops (spaces) and use them for different purposes. This however relies on the following two settings to keep the spaces in place and to allow switching to an app without being thrown to a random space. The last one was especially annoying.

First, easily reachable window moving/resizing shortcuts:
Cmd-Ctrl-H - left half
Cmd-Ctrl-L - right half
Cmd-Ctrl-K - fill (full size)
Cmd-Ctrl-J - center
Cmd-Ctrl-U - restore ("undo")
Cmd-Ctrl-M - center half ("middle")
Cmd-Ctrl-F - full screen (default)
Cmd-M - minimize (default)

After spending some time tweaking, I finally feel quite happy with macOS window management. btw, if you switch Caps Lock with Control, everything becomes instantly better in life, including the shortcuts below in the thread.

Ghostty is a joy to use! My favorite features so far are the window centered on start-up and the zero configuration philosophy. These 4 lines replace almost all of my WezTerm config, except for dynamically patching tmux config to update the theme on system appearance changes.

Realized I’ve kept buying books in recent years, but neglected my reading habit. As the first step to fix that, all the books I intend to read mid-term are now collected in one place to serve as a reminder and make it easier to pick up the next book.

Bruce Momjian’s talk “Databases in the AI Trenches” might just be enough to get me interested in exploring what’s under the hood of the hype.
