Today's batch wasn't ideal for Katie Wilson, but it preserves a path to victory. She needs about 55% of the remaining ballots to win. She needs tomorrow afternoon's count, which is mainly made up of last minute votes deposited in ballot boxes, to be significantly more in her favor.
Just in: Seattle added 36,035 votes today, and Katie Wilson WON this batch by 3.5%. That means she netted 1,275 votes.
She now trails Bruce Harrell overall by 9,908 votes, or 5.7%.

I think she can close the gap but still ... the enraging hypocrisy of this supposedly progressive city that inspired me to create The Needling persists. Shouldn't be this close at all. NYC gets to party tonight and we don't because this city is full of so many closeted conservatives.

I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.
