We DO have a de facto two party system, and it isn't the kind of system that can be changed from within. It would take a MASSIVE shift in public perception and comprehension, a near-total reset of all the establishment legislators, and a sympathetic administration.

There are a bunch of primaries coming up and a shocking number of Dems are about to be out of a job.
The Party isn't going to know what hit it. They're famously not real in touch like that. But maybe that's about to change, too.

We're not able to mobilize in this country anymore. Not like other countries, not like the great matches of the past. We're too rich, too comfortable, too unaffected.

I want to believe it will be okay. For my kids, I need to know things will get better again.
But for the life of me, I just can't see the HOW. I cannot see a single road that isn't torn up, blown up, occupied, or at the very least, under heavy construction and closed nightly starting at rush hour.

I'm not a veteran or soldier, so it's easy for me to say this, and I get that.
My honest belief though is that I would feel deeply proud for my kids to see me go to JAIL for refusing to terrorize people on American soil.
Nothing is more American than that.

Well.. it's a distraction like the Nazis brutalizing Great Britain distracted from the Holocaust.
Only this time, the chaos is the point. It's all about stretching the public's attention past the breaking point, you can only focus on so many atrocities, and it wears on us until we run out of shits.
