Trump is aggressively ignorant. He does not learn, actively resists it, and has surrounded himself with people who enable his stupidity.

Apropos of nothing in particular, here's Walt Disney's testimony to HUAC in 1947, where he named employees he believed were communists, condemned labor unions, and accused "commie" groups, including the League of Women Voters, of smearing him. 🗃️

what’s funny is that if pro-cuomo centrist democrats were less myopic they might see that mamdani was running the kind of campaign that could help rebuild the party brand — accessible with an outsider persona and a focus on “kitchen table” issues.

Love this piece from Katie. Is it braggy to say I got to hear her read it before it was published?
don't miss today's piece of wonder from Katherine Schmidt amidst the chaos!

"what a privilege it is to be a pigeon, it thinks, and searches for birdseed or mcdonald’s or fritos the same way i search for meaning in this godforsaken world..."

Just .. stop.
California built the film industry — and we’re ready to bring even more jobs home.

We’ve proven what strong state incentives can do. Now it’s time for a real federal partnership to Make America Film Again.

POTUS, let’s get it done.

Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"

Got a printer? You can start fighting fascism. Here's a thread of things you can print and distribute. 👇

I promise doing something--even this--feels better than raging silently. And maybe it'll show you that standing up is possible and open you up to more things you can do.

The Bay Area weather radar has been out of service since Saturday.

During a radar outage, the weather service typically relies on public precipitation reports through social media and phone calls. But the phone lines at the Monterey weather service office have been down since early Sunday morning.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.
