And yes, we are incredibly privileged to be able to do this. I'm hoping we can be a safe place for any of our friends/extended family to stay for a while, if they also decide to leave. I wish we could take them all with us.

I'm also hoping to move back next year with my partner and our 3-month-old, after Bub's application for citizenship by descent goes through (partner will apply for onshore partner visa). We're not in panic mode yet but we sure are eyeing the exits. US feels like a pot of slowly boiling water.
