I never thought about it, but Ridley and Sauron have a lot in common.

Reminds me of the flavor quote on a late '90s Magic card. It's weird what sticks with you.

Gotta wait for the Lego GBA I'm afraid.

Anyway, this was a pleasant way to spend an evening, and it's given me some ideas for a few MOCs... Maybe a Tetris cartridge too.

What's more, the Lego cartridges are slightly thicker than real Game Boy games, so they don't work the other way either. Maybe this was on purpose since they do look an awful lot like the real thing.

The first & last parts of this build involve putting together the two cartridges. Even though it's invisible, it's a nice touch that Zelda has a battery backup inside the cartridge. The actual Game Boy cartridges are just slightly wider than their Lego facsimiles, so they won't fit the brick boy.

There's lenticular panels you can put inside the screen to represent powering on, Super Mario Land, and Zelda: Link's Awakening. And they're accurate... hard to make out and three shades of pea-soup green.

Lots of custom printed panels on this one. So glad they didn't cheap out and make them all decals.

The A and B buttons and the D-pad are good stuff too. The rubber bits give the buttons some action, and it feels nice.

Ok, I take that back. This is pretty great.

Overall, this set is fun to put together so far. Not quite sure yet what I think of using negative space for the select and start buttons. It's an interesting decision, but it might be more fun to have something there to press.

I'm working on something similar. I like what Technic can do, but I don't have engineer brain so I have to follow the instructions.

"Which one should we try?" I asked. Wordlessly, she grabbed a package of each. I nodded. "We are adults, and we make adult decisions." I replied.

It's fine! Just didn't give it long enough ears.

This thing is so stupid, so wrong on so many levels, I knew I had to give it a good home.

Altered Beast:

As impressive as it was to see an arcade perfect port at the dawn of the Genesis, it doesn't hold up by modern standards. No co-op means replayability is nonexistent- play it once, you've seen all there is to see. Likely responsible for awakening at least two generations of Furries.

It's been done.

This taught me the former. The latter, I'm not sure I've ever heard out loud.
