Shows like "Boots" are built on a deeply conservative architecture. They fetishise order, they encourage institutions of coercion, they treat structural violence as individual heroism , and they relocate every social conflict into the terrain of personal virtue or patriotic/virile obligation.
What gets me with "Boots" on Netflix. Yes, I finished it, it was mediocre. The Republicans say it is a "woke piece of trash" but it is not woke at all. I am sorry, it is a purely right wing show, and the liberals who defend it because their enemies hated it are defending a purely right wing show!!!

For a quick walk around the harbor, it was very rewarding! The first 3 (American Avocet, Black-necked Stilt and Willet) were all together inside the harbor on the tide line (with a second Stilt) then the Pied-billed Grebe I saw on the way back hanging with the Coots as usual. #Birds 🪶 #EastCoastKin
