Pointing out the original Black Friday-the financial crisis of 1869. (History is important) For years, I have refused to shop on this day and no ordering online for Cyber Monday. This time, it will be neither for Blackout week. I’ll get by. Help others to do the same.

Nice twist! And the posts are funny all the way down!

Stupidity is the mind killer. I will let it pass through me, and in the end, I will remain, wiser from the experience.
Arrakis, a desert, planet, can you believe it? Some people call it Dune, I call it Arrakis. The SPICE must flow, and quite frankly, it will be flowing much faster than under the failed DUKE LETO. Maybe he was a nice guy, maybe not,I think he was jealous of me! We're looking into that very strongly.

Deluded the liberals are. Propaganda leads to blame, blame leads to hate, hate leads to misdirection, and misdirection leads to more billionaires. Communism is not the same as Fascism.
Clueless liberal.
Thinks trump is communist.

The more the US national clown show goes on, the more I think that cats should rule the world. We will still get the haughty entitlement, but have warmer feelings and light-hearted laughter. #Caturday can never come soon enough in the week! 🐈‍⬛

I got a whim to try writing a haiku, then it kept going until I did 5 in a row. I’m hoping it isn’t too messy or weird, and hoping I got it right. It is a bit grim, but so is my view of collective humanity. That includes a slim possibility of hope.

I haven't watched The Majority Report for years, but I saw that Abby Martin was on this one. She always gets me fired up, so I've been a fan ever since I first saw her show, "Breaking the Set." New documentary coming up, called Earth's Greatest Enemy.

Those 8, and others of their ilk, are seen as Republicans in Democrats' clothing. This is partly why I did the Dem exit thing 5 years ago. That move will embolden Republicans further and weaken their chances in the midterms. Real lives are on the line here.

I know I have a "wait and see" attitude on much of politics nowadays, but what an amazing victory speech! Congrats to Mayor-elect Mamdani! I think there is renewed hope in NYC. 👍

In this age of mergers and partnerships, I'm kinda surprised Burger King has not hooked up with Dairy Queen. It seems logical. After all, many people still like to glorify monarchies.

The Grifter in Chief is having hurt feelings over Ronald Reagan’s actual words. They will throw every obfuscation they can against Canada’s ad with Reagan. It especially points out that it is merely for short-term gain, and everyone else can suffer in the long run. Truth hurts, eh, Trumpy?

Wishing everyone a good Indigenous Peoples’ Day. A number of states observe this alongside that other traditional holiday. I hope it accentuates the history of colonizers on the continent.

It’s October and time to get in the Halloween spirit. This time, it’s the original Addams Family. In the Melancholia comes to visit episode, I discover the inspiration for Princess Leia’s hair do for the first Star Wars movie. . . Maybe.

While continuing to write about my past, (and looking things up on the internet) I found out that Mark Volman died on September 5, 2025. (Just last month) He was 78 years old. I will be sad the rest of this week and then some. RIP, Mark.

I love to hear conspiracy theories and here’s one of mine: What if an orange authoritarian with the mind of a petulant toddler wanted to get even with everyone on the planet just because he was criticized & made fun of? (Scorched Earth stuff.) I think of that every time Trumpy does something stupid.

Keeping to myself lately and concentrating on my own writing, I look things up from time to time. With predictive search, I presume the search engine uses what a lot of other people search for. If that’s true, we are truly immersed in an idiocracy! It’s a tragic comedy! (or a comical tragedy?)

This is a very poignant moment from a very funny movie, The Great Dictator, with Charlie Chaplin. It's worth a view from time to time, even if only to remind us that we missed our moment many times over. Enjoy, and always speak out like this, if you can. ✊

My best indulgence this summer has been to rewatch Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, the Collector’s Edition. Once again, I am reminded that not only is it informative and entertaining, but it is a work of art, as well. I recommend it. Next up: maybe something with Neil Degrasse Tyson.

This is my favorite scene from my walking route - the chalk art wall that had a beautiful butterfly where I started the uphill part of my walk. Wonderful artistic talent usually gets displayed there. Extra goodness: the chalk obscures where someone wrote, “We (heart) Trump” in red spray paint!

I remember Rick Sanchez from RT America. True, they had a few Trump supporters there, but I saw some of the best progressive voices of the US there, like Chris Hedges, Abby Martin, Lee Camp, and others. Good Danny Haiphong interview:
