I do a ten-minute speech at the start of the semester on why using AI is bad, and affirming that I will catch them if they do, and vowing to flunk them for a first offense, and promising that cheating and giving up are the only ways to fail my course, and begging them not do do either.

I mean, as fighting words as it gets here from a GOP official against the White House.

There are exceptions, of course, especially among those with (often misplaced) national political ambitions. But again, *on average*, state Republican lawmakers aren't as extreme (or as extreme acting) as those in Congress.

And that includes in more conservative states like mine, Mississippi.

People get dementia it’s a medical fact of life. We don’t however hand them the keys to the nuclear ☢️ codes. Also put them in charge of our military. Time to rethink our situation citizens
