And if you aren’t artistically inclined, and it’s not your jam: That’s okay. It’s okay to not have skills in every single field. I know we live in a pretty cruel society that wants us all to be hyper talented, but it’s okay if you aren’t, and it’s okay if you need to work at it to develop that.

I won’t even entertain the “AI art makes creating accessible for people who can’t do it” argument. I wasn’t good at art either when I first started. I sucked at pottery for months. The journey of practicing and growing is an incredible thing to experience; you can’t just be good right away.

I felt really appreciated/loved the entire weekend, thanks to anyone who came up to say hi and talk to me about games (and Murder, She Wrote!!). Maybe next year @mattaukamp.bsky.social and I will do a “how much do my pants weigh?” panel.

I don’t really do cons much anymore. Over the years my BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) has gotten so debilitating that it’s been hard to really put myself out there, but everyone was very kind. Maybe next year I will do an unhinged panel discussion on loose cranks.
