It’s 2010 - Talmadge Creek, Marshall, Michigan. On Sunday, July 25, an Enbridge pipeline ruptures and more than one million gallons of crude oil surge down Talmadge and into the Kalamazoo. The event becomes one of the worst inland oil spills of all time.

On September 13th, 2018, a chain of gas explosions occurred throughout Merrimack Valley, Massachusetts. As a result of this disaster, 30,000 residents were evacuated, 131 structures were damaged, 22 individuals were hospitalized, and 18-year-old Leonel Rondon lost his life.

Yesterday marked 25 years since a transmission pipeline owned and operated by El Paso Natural Gas ruptured and killed 12 campers near Carlsbad, New Mexico.
 
The Carlsbad pipeline explosion was one of the deadliest gas pipeline explosions in US history.

Pipeline companies are proposing a major buildout of CO₂  pipelines, particularly in the Midwest and along the Gulf Coast.

Some analysts express that the current siting structure for these pipelines will be “a significant problem if more interstate CO₂ pipelines are built.”
