Social Distortion
They Might Be Giants
And a bunch of local bands with names I don’t remember.

Or a concert.

Let’s be honest, you won’t have an experience like buying Cubivore on modern consoles, there’s not mystery or discovery in online stores. For better or worse.

True, and I won’t say the PS2 was better than other systems, but something changed about purchasing games after the PS2, or it’s more fair to say the PS2 generation.

Now do I put that experience on a pedestal? No, every unique gem you found had about 5 turds that came with it. But the nature of game purchases did change after the PS2 for the better, but it was a unique experience when you took a chance on a game and we’re rewarded.

It didn’t have more treasures than systems that came after, but they were harder to find. You won’t have that experience of seeing Katamari, Mister Mosquito, or Disaster Report sitting on a shelf and asking yourself “what is this?!” Now you see everything on release with a little video. No discovery

Being honest I disagree, and it came out when I was 20.

PS2 was the last console with a ton of games without an online shop. You got weird games with more limited releases. Next generation those risky games were digital only and very easy to find in the online store if you checked weekly.
