I always want to be one of the cool houses and last year we got tons of kids so this year we got tricked out with lights, music, bubble machines, a cat in a costume, and so much candy

Can't sleep and was catching Airplane Pokemon (aka Skycards) and what is the Russian Special Flight Squadron doing going from NYC to DC at 1:15AM? 👀
It wasn't in NYC for the UN General Assembly b/c it landed from Iceland at 9PM. Weird!

Spent a lovely evening in Philadelphia (lost my Investigative News Emmy to the @inquirer.com, well-deserved, congrats!) and have totally reevaluated my opinion of the city. What a cool, interesting, beautiful place. Too bad my Lancaster-raised husband has an inborn hatred of Eagles fans.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are signing goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to a professional tryout contract and he'll play in the Sept. 27th preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. And then, presumably, retire as a Pittsburgh Penguin, as the universe intended.

Pittsburgh Fire Chief Jones briefs media (2nd half of briefing, had another reporter's phone for the first half sorry). 44 units, 30 occupied, everyone out safe, building is total loss, defensive firefight b/c partial collapse made it unsafe to go in, this is going to continue burning for a while

It is hard to explain how heavy the smoke gets. Zero visibility. The wind picks up every so often and sweeps it clear and then we see how intensely the building is burning.
