When I want background noise sometimes I stream old show series. Lately it in X-Files. In current episode chess prodigy is claimed by Mueller to be "fake" as he reads opponent's mind. Knowing what opponent is attempting doesn't help you counter it if you know chess at all nor help you on offense.

Sometimes I can take the transphobes and even those that deny our existence. Sometimes it is just too much even 34 years after transition. Maybe it is having grown up with psychological and emotional abuse. But at some point I am battered down. Can only imagine what it does to those just starting.

I am done with the toxic addiction creating dump that is X. I cannot and will not subject myself to so much hate and outrage baiting just to and make buck for Elon. Seeing almost every reply on Sarah McBride mentioning trans day of remembrance filled with hate and denial was the last straw.

So, does the US need I.C.E. at all? Arguably not and well argued in this video.

Dang. Why didn't I think of that?

Oh,my! In a David Mack Star Trek fanfic book the bar on the Entreprise is called "Happy Bottom Riding Club". Before I figured oit my gender stuff I spent enough time on Castro and Folsom in San Francisco to have quite different associations with any bar with such a name. Is it just me? :)

Perhaps my previous post on the extent of the privacy problem makes it seem hopeless to regain and keep it.

Here are a few of the ways we can fight back.

What is the extent of the privacy problem today?
Many are not aware or do not thing about how deep the surveillance of everyone and the subsequent loss of privacy really is.
See this article to learn the extent to which we have lost privacy.

I am delighted if Trump and minions deny there is anything wrong. They will be less able to stop the comeuppance bearing down upon them if they have their heads up their ass admiring the smell of their own flatulence.

I disagree that making point that being trans is not a choice is somehow weak or saying it is so horrible no one will choose it. Point is what you gender is including not what you are assigned is part of who you are, not some arbitrary choice. Generally attack on baked in stuff is not cool at all.

So they are purportedly ending the shutdown with the offer of bring back the laid off federal workers. Thing is that by law all furloughs due to government shutdown are temporary and full back pay is required. So the Republicans are giving nothing except a vague promise to revisit ACA cuts.

Absolutely net as real. Human rights are based in the objective nature of human beings. God is based in nothing at all but impossible set of superlatives and wishful thinking.
God is just as real as human rights. What gives either of them any justification to exist, what is their ontology?

If it was economically viable you wouldn't have to do it by initiating government force.

Trump wants to give Argentina $40 billion and buy Argentina beef. What of US under shutdown? He wants to take money away from American people and ruin American beef production to save poor Argentina.

There is no such thing as "social contract".
my woke take is that entirely too many people feel entitled to the benefits of a social contract while not feeling bound by the responsibilities of said contract

Reagan in 1986 said no one should be turned away from Emergency Room that needed Emergency Care. They money paid to hospitals for this care is 0.4% of Medicaid budget. And these hateful assholes are making a case for how unreasonable Democrats are on that?
Lisa McClain: "Democrats' plan forces taxpayers to cover the majority of emergency medical costs for all non-citizens. Another $28 billion tab for who? You guessed it, the American people."

Human rights are not privileges to be granted or withheld by government in the first place. They are TO BE DEMANDED and nothing less settled for.
Maybe next time instead of going claws-out to defend your Very Special Trans maybe consider that a lot of us have been on this ride before? That maybe we recognize the signs that someone is about to throw us all to the wolves? Or do you need to wait all the way until the "Why I left the left" essay?

Rights ARE a matter of ethics and thus their violation IS unethical. They are unacceptable BECAUSE they are unethical. Only people that don't believe in grounded ethics would make an argument against calling out rights variations as unethical.
apparently a lot of people need to hear this: harmful practices that violate fundamental rights are not a matter of ethics or morality. please don’t frame it as “unethical”. the “ethics” lens undermines the fact that is it unacceptable under any condition. not a matter of debate

Apparently you miss the point. The point is sure not a put down of transition or being able to transition.

I have been in software development for over 40 years. In that time I have seen a lot of changes as well as a lot of “new” rehashes, and…

Conversion Therapy is medical malpractice.
it's about to become legal literally everywhere in the United States for a parent to have their child tortured until they describe sexual desires that accord with what that parent wants. it will be illegal for any state to protect children from that

parental feelings are not something I care about

Proponents pretend it is a free speech issue. It is not. Conversion Therapy is medical malpractice.
Just know that “conversion therapy” is three incoherent pseudoscientific ramblings standing on each other’s shoulders under a trench coat. It’s not therapeutic (it doesn’t help, does net harm), it doesn’t convert (practically no “success” documented), and it should absolutely be banned.
