My colleagues and I's chapter is on designing quest-based edu games. Using our high-level design model, UML-based metamodel, and quest adjustment algorithm, we can craft educational games with not just one but multiple quest sequences for multiple learning contexts. (2/3)

The model explains how, as dynamical systems, ludonarrative systems can expand along the dimensions of hierarchy, ecology, metagame, and experience. In turn, the model can produce conceptually robust, scientifically precise, easily realizable, and adaptable designs. 2/3
