DID YOU KNOW that making sure people have a place to live and enough money to live on makes them less likely to commit crimes in a society that keeps finding new ways to treat poverty and homelessness as criminal offences?

DID YOU KNOW that giving people enough money to survive makes them less stabby???

"UBI's not a panacea, Iva."

I'm sure it's not, but it would be a hell of a lot more effective than whatever the fuck we're doing now.

It takes me a long time to recognize what I need and then more time to make a change that could meet those needs, especially if it means encroaching on someone else's preferences/needs. So I'm taking some time to absorb the difference: if it's this much better for me, it's better for everyone.

It's stunning what a difference it made. By the time we got to breakfast, I was ready to have an engaged conversation. I was even able to stay fully calm about the pace of traffic while driving him to school in the first proper snowfall of the season.

This morning, we did something different. While I was getting ready, he had a bath. I had 20 mins with no one chattering at me, asking me memory questions, repeatedly going over the events of the day so he has everything straight. And he got to have a calming soak.

"Step My Way"
The Academic

The bass line of this song has such a charming, cozy bounce to it.
