In summary, the peninsular India plate experienced “idiosyncratic” biotic diversification. These insights into how past climate and habitat stability influenced biotic diversification can prove crucial especially under today's climatic crisis.

And, the remaining 16 groups had quite dynamic diversification trajectories due to non-uniformities in speciation and extinction rates across time, influenced by global paleotemperature and mid-Miocene intensification of aridification and monsoons.

Furthermore we inferred a prevalence of gradual accumulation of species diversity in the peninsular Indian landscape in 17 out of 33 groups, suggesting important role of habitat stability in tropical ecosystems.

We found that there's immense disparity in diversification rates across these groups and more closely related species share similar diversification rates. Additionally the age of a group was found to strongly govern its diversification rate.
